Investing for beginners how I got started
In this video, I cover the basics of how I got started, roughly 1 month ago, investing in myself, and my future.
Where am I currently. Currently, I stand around a networth of 57,000. Not counting the personal investments I have made in the last month, or my company stock that will be provided to me for my end of the year salary.
How did I get here? I got here by eliminating silly debt, and investing more. Although I am not debt free yet, I will be debt free by the end of the year. So far, with the debt I have eliminated, I am making an extra 0 per month. Currently, I am able to invest roughly 00-00 per month.
What are my goals?
My goals are first to reach 0,000 net worth, solely because that is a solid milestone. Ultimately though, when I do retire, I would like my net-worth to be 17 million dollars. I chose 17 million because I love prime numbers, but also because earning 10% off of that annually, I could ultimately pay myself one-million dollars a year through my retirement, which would make my life fairly comfortable.
What investment platforms am I using?
Currently, I am investing in a 401k through my job, an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) that matches 8% of my annual pay in company stock. Both of which are 100% company stock. This year (2019), I will easily achieve a max Roth IRA contribution (00 starting this year), and in addition to that some extra cash will be invested a basic brokerage account.
Currently, my investments include the following ticker symbols
CRON (Cronos Group Inc)
JNJ (Johnson and Johnson)
MTNB (Matinas Biopharma Holdings incorporated)
WIX (Wix ltd)
VBK (Vanguard small cap growth ETF)
VOO (Vanguard S&P 500 Index ETF )
BUD (Anheuser Busch Inbev SA/NC)
CGC (Canopy Growth Corp)
